XBox 360 Kinect: “Kinect” With Your Family & Friends.

It’s out now and the wait is over! The XBox 360 Kinect console is the latest addition to motion sensor game play phenomena. The main difference from other consoles you may have played before is there are now no hand controls. You will run, jump, skip and steer and the kinect’s in built camera shows it all on the screen in front of you.

Check out the cool video demonstrating the Forza demo race game. You can instantly get an idea of navigation without any hand controls.

As you have seen from the video, the xBox Kinect console is truly a new way of playing video games. The kinect for xBox 360 bundle comes in two memory size, either the 4GB or 250GB. At the time of writing the price for the 4GB is $299.99 and the 250GB $399.99. You are paying an extra hundred bucks just for memory.

With both bundles you will get the Kinect Adventures game. The game is exciting as you move off the couch and step into a world where you go through various adventures. I guess it’s one way to get fit?

The console includes built in WiFi so that you can connect to XBox LIVE, a controller and headset. The kinect feature allows you to control the XBox using hand gestures.  So for example,  you can control an HD movie with a wave of your hands. Using hand gestures is really cool, but it can be a little time consuming as you try to get the hang of it.

One of the downsides of the Xbox kinect system is that Netflix is still not supported. This is a downer since they did demonstrate during microsoft E3 press conference how Netflix will work with the console. Having said that in my opinion it’s a minor negative, you can still do a lot more with the new video game system.

The kinect is all about movement. Your movement! Your body moves and you will see yourself in action on screen. The console’s camera picks up your every move, so when you kick , run, box, dance or jump it’s all captured and displayed on screen in an instant.

The console comes with a total of 5 USB ports. This allows you to connect more accessories and storage when you need it.

When you buy the 250GB or 4GB kinect console it comes with the Kinect adventures game. Kinect adventures involves going on obstacle courses, experiencing the thrills of roaring rapids, and diving underwater. The game is an ideal way to experience  and sample what YOU can do on screen with kinect. Other popular kinect games are Dance central and kinect sports just to name a few.

The xBox 360 kinect is predicted to be the biggest holiday season seller as people look to share some fun and games with friends and family. Since the recent launch, many retailers are just dealing with all the pre-orders. Right now I cannot think of one controller that can detect whether you’re moving side-to-side, or backwards and forwards, or squatting or jumping while at the same time moving your arms and feet! It’s just brilliant how well Kinect works.

What Are Others Saying About The XBox 360 Kinect Console

“The Kinect is so much fun. It works better than my expectations. It captures all sorts of movements.

My wife is not a video gaming fan, but she is really into the Dance central game. If you are in two minds over spending over $250 don’t be, it’s well worth it. It’s a fantastic way to play video games”.

“I have been playing the Kinect adventures game since purchasing the console and have been very impressed with the technology. It seems well worth the investment. There is a slight time lag on some games, and space is needed to play but they are minor issues. One major pet peev is that you can’t browse the entire systems dashboard for example netflix titles”.
